• A surprisingly excellent biopic of Mae West.

  She had quite the life, one of the most fabulous and gutsy of all the old Hollywood screen sirens, and this film does it all justice. The actress, Ann Jillian, doesn’t really look so much like Mae but that’s ok, she gets everything else correct, the voice, the walk, the attitude, and she looks like she’s having a ton of fun playing her too.

  I like that it focused a lot of how Mae took on the men of Hollywood, she didn’t back down and I’m glad that this showed that and wasn’t just some glitzy biopic with no depth.

  I also recommend the documentary MAE WEST: DIRTY BLONDE
