    Biography of Lytton Strachey

    Lytton Strachey, an English biographer, literary critic, and essayist, was born on March 1, 1880, in London.

    He came from a family that played a significant role in the political and cultural history of Great Britain since the time of the Spanish Armada in the 16th century. Strachey attended private schools and Trinity College, Cambridge University, where he befriended D.M.

    Keynes, Cl. Bell, and L. Woolf, who later became known as the "Bloomsbury Group."

    Early Writing Career

    Strachey's first essay, "Two Frenchmen," was published in the new "Independent Review" in 1903. Over the next fifteen years, he wrote numerous biographical and critical essays for various journals, including "Spectator," "New Quarterly
